Fundraising is sales. I've spent 18 years doing both.

If fundraising feels harder than it should, it's usually not because you care too little or know too little. It's because no one ever built the structure underneath it.

I'm Amy Ferdinando, founder of Fundraising AF. Before I ever worked in nonprofits, I built my career in sales and business development. Then I moved into fundraising and brought those skills with me—because fundraising is sales.
​
The difference is what you're selling. You're not moving a product. You're inviting people to believe in something bigger than themselves: a better future, a stronger community, a child or family or cause that deserves support.

That's not easy. And most leaders are trying to do it without a system or a senior partner behind them.

Over the past 18 years, I've helped build donor relationships, strengthen revenue, and create systems that actually hold up.

A little more about me
I'm originally from Boston, a lifelong Red Sox fan, and a graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. These days I live in Frisco, Texas with my husband, our daughter and Scout, our three-legged rescue dog.
If we work together, you'll quickly learn that I believe in taking action, telling the truth, and building systems that last. You'll probably also discover that I have a soft spot for Taylor Swift references, a good dirty martini, and helping nonprofit leaders realize they aren't the problem.
